Job description

Bureau Veritas is hiring an Inspection Engineer - Electrical based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, executing, and supervising electrical inspection activities in line with QHSE standards, customer requirements, and national/international specifications (IS, IEC). The role includes reviewing technical documentation, handling Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), promoting BV services, and driving HSSE management system compliance (ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001) across the assigned region.

Responsibilities

1. Review applicable contractual requirements including technical standards and specifications. 2. Define and review QHSE drawings, files, plans, procedures, and validate inspection assignment documentation. 3. Define Bureau Veritas interventions and select appropriate inspection techniques. 4. Execute or supervise inspection according to predefined QHSE plans and established inspection procedures. 5. Execute inspection reporting including Non-Conformities (NCRs) and other deliverables. 6. Ensure quality of inspection according to BV Quality System and interpret survey/inspection results. 7. Manage treatment of Non-Conformities, corrective actions, and appraisal of inspection procedures. 8. Maintain internal and external communication, design and deliver training for customers and new surveyors, and promote Bureau Veritas services. 9. Respect security guidelines of BV, safeguard personal security, and handle customer relationship management. 10. Comply with BV Cardinal Safety Rules, company HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable local legal HSE requirements. 11. Immediately report any HSE incidents or unsafe work practices to immediate Line Managers and share improvement opportunities. 12. Responsible for compliance with all applicable statutory laws and Group HSSE policies. 13. Responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing the HSSE Management System (ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001) within the region/location/team.

Education qualifications

1. Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. 2. Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with 3 to 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector. 3. Knowledge of QA/QC is a must. 4. Strong knowledge of required inspection activity methodologies. 5. Knowledge of IS, IEC, and other national and international codes, standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
