Associate Manager - Environment & Sustainability

GMR Group is hiring an Associate Manager - Environment & Sustainability in Nagpur, India. The candidate will drive the sustainability and ESG framework for Nagpur Airport, implement global standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISO 14064), and engage with internal and external stakeholders. Requires 8-12 years of experience with at least 3 years in airport operations, maintenance engineering, safety, or environmental compliance.

GMR Group is looking for an Associate Manager - Environment & Sustainability at Nagpur Airport. The role involves enabling Nagpur Airport to become a global leader in sustainability through strategic risk identification, long-term planning, resource conservation, policy advocacy, and ESG framework implementation aligned with global standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and IFC-WB.

1. Develop and drive the sustainability roadmap for Nagpur Airport in line with global standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, IFC-WB) and stakeholder expectations. 2. Develop organizational strategic objectives and initiatives in line with the Global Sustainability agenda (SDG 2030) and NITI Aayog requirements. 3. Develop and implement roadmap initiatives to achieve GNIAL's objective of becoming the most sustainable airport globally. 4. Establish benchmarks for sustainability practices, conduct feasibility assessments, and ensure successful implementation. 5. Build strong communication mechanisms with internal and external stakeholders for brand building and sustainability reporting. 6. Develop business materiality matrices, conduct stakeholder surveys, and author business sustainability reports. 7. Liaise with external bodies such as MoEF, MoCA, DGCA, UNFCCC, ICAO, ACI, and CII on sustainability, CDM programs, and green certifications. 8. Collaborate with internal operational teams, P&E, HR, Procurement, and Finance to integrate LEED/IGBC requirements and environmental learning.

1. B Tech / M Tech in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering 2. 8 – 12 years of experience with minimum 3 years' experience in Airport Operations & Maintenance Engineering, safety & OH Audit, Compliance, SMS implementation, OH surveillance, and regulatory coordination
