Project Site EHS manager cum Plant EHS manager

PepsiCo is hiring a Project Site EHS Manager cum Plant EHS Manager for a major Greenfield Foods project in Trichy, India. The candidate will oversee EHS across project design, construction, and commissioning before transitioning to manage operational plant EHS. Applicants need an engineering degree, 8-10 years of relevant EHS experience, and Tamil language proficiency.

This is a critical EHS leadership role for setting up an E2E Greenfield Foods project in Trichy. The position provides EHS leadership across design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up, subsequently transitioning into the Site EHS Manager role for the operational plant. The site features high complexity, including a manufacturing plant, ASRS with 6,500+ pallet positions, 20,000 MT cold storage, solar/wind installations, IGBC Green Building Gold certification, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD).

1. Establish and lead the EHS strategy and governance for the Greenfield project in alignment with PepsiCo EHS standards, GEHSMS, and applicable legislation. 2. Drive EHS by Design across engineering, equipment selection, and project execution to control critical risks at source. 3. Lead Construction and Contractor EHS Management, covering qualification, onboarding, field verification, and safe execution across civil, MEP, and equipment installation. 4. Manage construction critical risks, including work at height, lifting, excavation, hot work, confined space, electrical safety, and hazardous energy. 5. Oversee project fire protection, emergency preparedness, and FM Global engagement during design and construction. 6. Ensure statutory EHS, environmental, and regulatory compliance, including required permits, approvals, and licenses. 7. Lead EHS risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP, MOC, incident investigations, and corrective action management. 8. Establish EHS systems and capabilities required for commissioning, PSSR, start-up, and operational handover. 9. Transition into managing operational site EHS performance, partner with Plant Leadership to establish KPIs, and execute annual EHS AOP. 10. Ensure ongoing environmental compliance for ETP, wastewater, air emissions, hazardous waste, and ZLD operations. 11. Conduct site EHS inspections, GEHSMS self-assessments, internal/compliance audits, and Safety Committee reviews.

1. Engineering degree with a recognized EHS qualification, such as RLI/CLI or equivalent; NEBOSH preferred. 2. 8–10 years of EHS experience, with significant exposure to large-scale construction, Greenfield/Brownfield projects, and manufacturing industries. 3. 3+ years of construction/project EHS experience, preferably on mid-to-large capital projects with multiple contractors & work fronts. 4. Strong knowledge of construction safety, contractor management, risk assessment, PTW, hazardous energy, lifting, work at height, excavation, electrical safety, fire protection and emergency response. 5. Working knowledge of environmental management and statutory compliance for construction and manufacturing sites. 6. Experience establishing EHS systems and capability in a new site/project environment. 7. Strong influencing, stakeholder management, communication and coaching skills. 8. Proficiency in Tamil Language.
