General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety Specialist Professional

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Emirati professional for the role of General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety Specialist Professional in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The candidate will be responsible for advising project teams on EHS requirements, updating safety plans, conducting audits, and investigating incidents. Requires 3-5 years of HSE experience, ideally within substation EPC projects.

Hitachi Energy is seeking a skilled and proactive Emirati professional in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs across our operations. In this role, you will contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance within the organization and help foster an exemplary safety culture. You will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge to provide effective solutions, guidance, and advice. The role also involves facilitating the delivery of support from the Centre of Expertise (CoE), driving compliance with applicable regulations and company requirements, and ensuring effective risk management through operational excellence across Hitachi Energy's value chain.

1. Maintain and update the Project HSE Plan where required 2. Maintain the Project Emergency Preparedness Plan 3. Conduct Fire, Environmental, and Rescue HSE drills 4. Assist the Project Manager with HSE meetings 5. Conduct Life Saving Rules assessments as determined by the Project HSE Plan 6. Conduct routine HSE inspections of the project site 7. Conduct periodic audits of Hitachi Energy's HSE Operating System 8. Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements 9. Review Subcontractor HSE Plans 10. Investigate all incidents and implement corrective actions 11. Prepare and report HSE statistics regarding hours, training, and incidents 12. Implement HSE Operating Systems within the project

1. UAE National 2. Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Electrical Engineering or Science with an additional qualification in HSE 3. 3-5 years of experience as an HSE Advisor in a high-risk industry, preferably in substation EPC jobs 4. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC 5. Experience implementing programs and policies within ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified organizations 6. Experience in a client-facing role is highly regarded 7. Sound knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice 8. Communication, presentation, and training development and delivery experience 9. Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause incident investigations and inspect workplace environments for regulatory compliance 10. Valid non-probationary Driver's License
