Job description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Safety Engineer to join our team! In this role, with general oversight from a safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) manager or director, you will assist or advise a project or program manager in ensuring that site-specific SH&E plans, workplaces, and operational tasks being conducted conform to Parsons' risk management practices and comply with prevailing regulatory and client SH&E requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Advises and assists the project manager, program manager, and/or other project personnel in conforming to Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system and Parsons’ policies and procedures. 2. Audits the project or program and its worksites against corporate standards. 3. Inspects worksites to detect hazards and provides expertise to project or program personnel to eliminate/control the SH&E risks associated with exposure to the hazards. 4. Creates and submits written audit and inspection reports. 5. Implements Parsons’ occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes. 6. Initiates and conducts thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses using defensible protocols. 7. Works collaboratively with the project or program manager, craft workers, and other project or program personnel to identify effective corrective actions. 8. Creates and submits comprehensive investigation reports and lessons learned. 9. Performs trends analyses on audit findings, inspection findings, and incident reports; creates and submits regular analysis reports. 10. Represents Parsons during external regulatory or loss control inspections of project worksites. 11. Represents the SH&E manager or director on project or program worksites. 12. Seeks active and personal participation from the project or program manager, craft workers, and other project or program personnel to identify SH&E improvements and to implement the improvements. 13. Assists with risk assessments for upcoming work and provides SH&E subject matter expertise to work planning processes. 14. Assists the project or program manager with new hire orientation. 15. Performs regulatory and best practice SH&E training. 16. Creates and maintains SH&E training records. 17. Participates in routine safe work briefings.

Education qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 2. 5-8 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety 3. Excellent English / Arabic written and verbal communication skills 4. Excellent presentation skills 5. Experience of working internationally (preference KSA experience) 6. Advanced knowledge of Federal and State health and safety regulations and reporting procedures 7. Advanced knowledge of safety-related national consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA)
