Job description

Egis is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HSE Engineer - Site to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will oversee contractor compliance with approved HSE plans, manage risk assessments, conduct proactive HSE audits and inspections, ensure ADOSH-SF regulatory reporting, and promote a positive HSE culture across high-rise building construction activities.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure Contractors implement and follow the approved HSE Plan, various procedures, and legal requirements applicable to the project. 2. Play a proactive role in the identification of project risks and communicate them to contractors to ensure suitable controls are implemented. 3. Actively participate in site meetings, including HSE meetings. 4. Develop and implement an effective HSE proactive monitoring program including joint inspections, audits, fire safety audits, and client reporting. 5. Participate in HSE incident investigations and ensure reportable incidents under ADOSH-SF statutory requirements are reported to appropriate authorities. 6. Review and forward project HSE monthly reports to project management, including KPIs and statistical analysis. 7. Prepare and disseminate HSE alerts using PM templates upon project management approval. 8. Evaluate, monitor, and manage contractor HSE behavior and performance to foster a positive safety culture on site. 9. Generate, review, and approve project HSE documents, enforcement notes, inspections, and audit close-outs. 10. Review and approve risk assessments and method statements and advise the PMC team. 11. Ensure contractors carry out task-specific risk assessments and communicate controls to site personnel. 12. Issue HSE Enforcement Notices for non-compliances and track resolution within accepted timeframes. 13. Chair regular site HSE meetings and ensure minutes are documented and distributed. 14. Engage positively with competent authorities during site visits. 15. Participate in the selection process of HSE staff per PMC OSH competency guidelines. 16. Ensure all concerned parties are registered with ADOSH and maintain up-to-date HSE permits and NOCs.

Education qualifications

1. Minimum 12 years of vivid experience in the HSE domain. 2. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an HSE Engineer with an HSE-related Master’s Degree; OR minimum 4 years with an HSE-related Bachelor’s Degree / NEBOSH Diploma; OR minimum 5 years with a Post-Secondary HSE Qualification (NVQ Level 4/5). 3. ISO 45001: 2018 Lead Auditor Qualification. 4. NEBOSH IGC certification. 5. OSHAD (ADOSH) Safety Practitioner Course. 6. Previous experience in High-rise Building construction (Oil & Gas experience not accepted). 7. Previous experience as a Supervision Consultant / PMC HSE.
