HSE Engineer (Renewable Energy/Construction HSE)

Segula Technologies is hiring an HSE Engineer for a 16-month contract in Duqm, Oman, starting January 2027. The role involves safety supervision on major renewable energy and electrical infrastructure construction projects. Candidates must possess NEBOSH certification and a minimum of 7 years of relevant HSE experience.

SEGULA Technologies Middle East is looking for an experienced HSE Engineer to support site safety supervision across major renewable-energy and electrical-infrastructure construction works in Duqm, Sultanate of Oman. The assignment starts in January 2027 for a duration of 16 months. The role focuses on monitoring construction HSE compliance, routine site safety inspections, reviewing Permit to Work activities, electrical safety oversight, and coordinating with project contractors.

1. Monitor HSE compliance across construction activities. 2. Conduct routine site safety inspections. 3. Review Permit to Work (PTW) activities. 4. Participate in HSE meetings. 5. Coordinate safety matters with contractors and project stakeholders. 6. Monitor electrical safety. 7. Oversee battery/BESS-related safety requirements where applicable. 8. Identify unsafe conditions and follow up corrective actions. 9. Monitor compliance with approved HSE plans and procedures. 10. Support incident prevention and site-safety reporting. 11. Coordinate with the project's Lead HSE function.

1. Degree or Diploma in HSE or relevant technical discipline. 2. NEBOSH qualification required. 3. Minimum 7 years of relevant HSE experience. 4. Experience on renewable-energy and/or substation projects. 5. Strong construction HSE experience. 6. Good knowledge of PTW systems. 7. Electrical-safety experience preferred. 8. BESS/battery safety exposure advantageous.
