Program Lead – ESG

GMR Group is looking for a Program Lead - ESG based in Delhi to lead organization-wide ESG initiatives and sustainability strategies. The role requires customized ESG strategy implementation, feasibility assessments, cross-functional project execution, and investor stakeholder engagement. Ideal candidates will have at least 15 years of overall experience, including 8+ years dedicated to ESG.

The Lead – ESG Analytics & Reporting is responsible for implementing organization-wide ESG programs, drive climate and sustainability-related initiatives, and ensure cross-functional alignment and collaboration across business units to embed ESG principles in day-to-day operations.

1. Customize the Group ESG strategy into detailed, actionable plans tailored to different business units (e.g., airport, transportation, energy). 2. Work with business heads to define ESG-linked KPIs and activity-level targets for focus areas (e.g., emissions reduction, water usage, biodiversity). 3. Liaise with HSE teams across business units to standardize ESG practices and ensure alignment with the Group ESG strategy. 4. Monitor regulatory developments and national/international commitments. 5. Conduct capability assessments across business units to identify gaps in ESG knowledge, tools, or execution. 6. Coordinate with business heads and function leaders to translate ESG rating-linked targets into practical, initiative-level action plans. 7. Undertake feasibility studies for new initiatives and evaluate innovative ESG technologies and frameworks for piloting. 8. Identify quick-win sustainability projects aligned with climate goals and shape concepts with Strategy, Innovation, and HSE teams. 9. Translate initiative ideas into scoped projects with defined budgets, partners, timelines, and KPIs. 10. Develop and maintain dashboards to capture initiative performance and present during Board Review Meetings. 11. Conduct benefit realization tracking post-implementation. 12. Address ESG-related queries from institutional investors, foreign stakeholders, and analysts, and represent the organization in investor meetings and sustainability roadshows.

1. Degree in Sustainability studies OR Environmental Engineering 2. MBA
