Deputy Manager-Safety

Adani is hiring a Deputy Manager-Safety for its coal mining operations in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. Candidates require a B.Tech/B.E. in Mining, a Diploma in Safety, and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include managing OHSMS and IMS standards, contractor safety, safety audits, incident investigations, and emergency response preparedness.

The Deputy Manager-Safety will serve as a Central or Site Safety Executive for Coal Mining operations. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) programs for Coal Washeries, implementing Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), overseeing contractor safety, leading incident investigations, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving safety automation and digitization.

1. Develop and execute comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) programs for Coal Washeries within the Cluster. 2. Prepare annual safety plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards. 3. Develop and maintain a safety training calendar for both Adani and contract employees. 4. Conduct employee training sessions to disseminate safety protocols and implement best practices in domains like life safety and chemical safety. 5. Conduct and oversee budget planning and allocation for all safety-related initiatives. 6. Oversee the implementation of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. 7. Plan and conduct internal audits and coordinate external periodic/recertification safety risk audits. 8. Support the implementation of safety initiatives such as Gensuite and Behavior-Based Safety programs. 9. Implement safety protocols to mitigate heavy vehicle risks within coal mining operations. 10. Organize and facilitate site/department level safety committee meetings and monitor the timely closure of observations. 11. Develop and implement a robust contractor safety management system in accordance with Group SOPs. 12. Direct the investigation, reporting, and analysis of accidents and major incidents to prevent recurrence. 13. Function effectively as a coordinator of the emergency response team and organize emergency mock drills. 14. Ensure compliance with state and central statutory requirements as well as industry safety standards. 15. Utilize real-time monitoring systems (IoT devices and mobile apps) and digital platforms for incident reporting, safety audits, and data analysis.
