Job description

Qatar Foundation is seeking a Crisis Management Lead to own and lead its enterprise-wide crisis management strategy across QF and its entities. The role involves developing, refining, and embedding Crisis Management Plans and Protocols aligned with international best practices to safeguard operations and reputation. Key responsibilities include governing the Crisis Management Framework, facilitating CMT and CLT training and exercise sessions, coordinating with external partners, establishing post-crisis review governance, and driving the integration of crisis-related risks into enterprise risk management systems. Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree along with 6–8 years of relevant work experience, excellent communication and report-writing skills, and a solid understanding of complex organizational structures.

Responsibilities

1. Own and lead the enterprise-wide crisis management strategy for Qatar Foundation and its entities, including development, review, refinement, and embedding of Crisis Management Plans and Protocols. 2. Guide and safeguard QF's operations and reputation through effective crisis handling by addressing operational and reputational threats. 3. Establish and govern the Crisis Management Framework, including crisis plans and protocols ensuring crisis preparedness mechanisms across QF. 4. Plan, direct, and facilitate organization-wide crisis management training and exercise sessions for CMT, CLTs, and other crisis teams. 5. Guide the QF Crisis Management Team in delivering their roles as effectively as possible with necessary support in the event of a crisis. 6. Collaborate with key external partners to ensure coordinated response efforts and timely communication during crises. 7. Ensure organizational crisis readiness through capability assessments, maturity evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives. 8. Establish post-crisis review governance, ensuring lessons learned are translated into structural, procedural, and capability improvements. 9. Drive integration of crisis-related risks into enterprise risk management systems, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, business continuity, and resilience objectives. 10. Represent crisis management at senior governance forums, providing assurance reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to senior leadership. 11. Lead collaborations with external consultants, vendors, and partners on specialized crisis services if needed, aligned with approved objectives. 12. Develop and oversee alignment frameworks with cross-functional crisis teams (CCT, CHCT, EMT etc.) to ensure alignment of crisis readiness efforts. 13. Mentor and guide crisis management specialists, coordinators, and entity focal points to build internal capacity and ensure continuity of expertise. 14. Supervise crisis management annual planning, KPIs, budget formulation, and performance scorecards, ensuring measurable impact. 15. Oversee the activities of Crisis Management Coordinators and Crisis Management Team (CMT) coordinators as necessary. 16. Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Director.

Education qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 2. 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience. 3. Solid understanding of QF’s large, complex multi-faceted centers and organizational design. 4. Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 5. Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft/edit a variety of written reports and communications and articulate ideas clearly and concisely. 6. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
