Job description
The HSSE Officer will be responsible for overseeing environmental, health, and safety protocols across plant and warehouse premises in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Key duties include conducting regular safety rounds, inspecting machinery and fire-fighting equipment, monitoring hot work activities, delivering safety and first-aid training, leading incident investigations, coordinating hazardous waste management, and conducting operational risk assessments to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety policies.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct periodical safety rounds around entire area of company premises for ensuring safe atmosphere and condition.
2. Ensure plant & warehouses safety and hygienic conditions are maintained and report deviations if any.
3. Ensure plant related employees are wearing appropriate overalls/clothing and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
4. Check the safe operation and condition of machineries across production area.
5. Ensure perfect condition of fire-fighting equipment thru periodical maintenance and re-filling of equipment as applicable.
6. Maintain necessary documents for recording the daily, weekly and monthly HSE inspection activities.
7. Monitor hot works & ensure they are carried out with due permission and safe condition across the plant.
8. Coordinate with security guards in line with visitors' movements, keeping track of entry and exit to company premises.
9. Conduct safety & first-aid on the job trainings for new recruits when required.
10. Participate in evacuation drills.
11. Ensure clear way to reach fire extinguisher and hose cabinets across company.
12. Take fire preventive measures on need basis especially during summer time.
13. Monitor the condition of drainages/canals and ensure them against infestation thru pest control spray activities in coordination with department heads.
14. Monitor cycle chart of the facility roof top, walls, light shadows, and electrical panels.
15. Ensure availability and maintain first-aid equipment and accessories.
16. Provide first aid activities in case of any accident if required.
17. Follow up on implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Policies, programs and procedures.
18. Increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
19. Investigate and report all serious / critical personal injury accidents occurring to staff, visitors or contractors.
20. Investigate accidents / incidents that result to a substantial damage to company properties.
21. Respond to employees safety concerns.
22. Respond immediately to fires and other emergency situations.
23. Coordinate registration and removal of hazardous waste if any.
24. Coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety testing, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and Investigation, workplace inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in facilities.
25. Assist executive staff, senior administrators, principals and supervisors and HSE team leader in emergency situations.
26. Conduct operational risk assessments on site and design risk mitigation measures.
27. Generate and maintain all the required reports related to HSE management system, including corrective action and preventive measures.
28. Provide HSE improvement proposals stating non-conformance, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation.
