Job description
The HSE Specialist supports the implementation of the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs by ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The role assists in identifying workplace hazards, conducting inspections, promoting safety awareness, and supporting continuous improvement to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure full compliance with ARM and / or Client's safety program.
2. Assist and support HSE Supervisor in organizing and executing HSE programs and all safety related assignments.
3. Advise Department Line managers/supervisors where required to take corrective / preventive actions or on measures necessary to carry out implementation of the HSE Program to its fullest extent.
4. Continuously assess and evaluate the risks in the workplace.
5. Review Job Safety Analysis/Hazard identification (JSA/HIRA) as part of risk assessment process.
6. Ensure habitual violators or safety complacent site personnel are reported and appropriate action is taken in accordance with rules & regulations.
7. Investigate all accidents, injuries, property damage and other safety related incidents, issue required reports and ensure recommended preventive measures are carried out.
8. Retain adequate records of all accidents & incidents and prepare, monitor and update HSE statistics monthly.
9. Carry out frequent safety inspections to check conformance with the established safety program.
10. Check proper usage and maintenance of PPE and evaluate its effectiveness.
11. Encourage all trades to be safety conscious through toolbox talks / awareness sessions.
12. Ensure that any equipment on site is suitable and provided with necessary valid certificates.
13. Follow any other instructions given by HSE Supervisor.
14. Responsible for adhering to and following the implemented Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy, objectives and procedures.
15. Responsible for own safety and that of others working around.
16. Responsible for reasonable care towards the environment and contribute to energy savings and waste reduction.
17. Act as focal point in providing necessary services and documents with respect to HSE activities for projects.
18. Arrange delivery of the company / HSE Induction for new personnel prior to individual commencing work.
19. Ensure monthly inspection, servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers, Oxy-Fuel cylinders, associated equipment, and vehicle/plant inspections.
20. Act as a designated Fire Warden and Incident Controller as required for the ARM premises.
21. Maintain a safe working environment within the confines of ARM.
22. Act as a First Aider where required.
23. Identify hazards in workplace and ensure controls are in place.
24. Identify near-miss incidents and ensure corrective measures are taken.
25. Monitor operational activities including plant and lifting equipment inspection status and update.
26. Ensure all Observation cards are properly tracked and complete.

Education qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in science or Degree Diploma in safety field or equivalent.
2. Professional certifications related to HSE field.
3. 2 to 4 years of experience in the HSE field, preferably in Oil and Gas/Manufacturing or similar, including investigation, inspection, auditing, and training.
