Senior Specialist, Industrial Hygiene II

Maaden is hiring a Senior Specialist, Industrial Hygiene II to lead occupational health hazard assessments and exposure monitoring across gold mining and processing operations in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on hazard identification, industrial hygiene sampling, exposure control measures, and regulatory compliance. Candidates should possess a relevant Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of industrial hygiene experience in mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry.

Maaden is seeking a Senior Specialist, Industrial Hygiene II to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control occupational health hazards associated with gold mining activities. The role ensures worker exposure to physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards is identified, monitored, and controlled in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices to prevent occupational illness and safeguard workforce health.

1. Identify and assess occupational health hazards across mining and processing operations, including respirable dust, noise and vibration, heat stress, chemical exposures, biological, and ergonomic risks. 2. Conduct baseline and periodic health risk assessments for new and existing processes, equipment, and projects. 3. Develop and implement industrial hygiene monitoring programs including personal and area dust sampling, noise surveys, heat stress assessments, and chemical exposure monitoring. 4. Manage sampling strategies, calibration, chain of custody, laboratory coordination, and trend exposure data to identify emerging risks. 5. Recommend and verify effectiveness of engineering, administrative, and PPE controls, supporting design reviews for ventilation and dust suppression systems. 6. Ensure compliance with mining and occupational health regulations (e.g., MSHA/OSHA or equivalent national authorities) and maintain legally defensible IH records and registers. 7. Develop and deliver industrial hygiene and occupational health training, including induction, refresher, and toolbox talks. 8. Manage industrial hygiene databases and prepare technical reports, trend analyses, and management summaries for leadership review. 9. Support investigations related to overexposure, occupational illnesses, and health complaints, coordinating with medical and occupational health providers.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline. 2. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in industrial hygiene within mining, oil & gas, heavy industry, or processing plants. 3. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent (preferred). 4. CSP / NEBOSH / ISO 45001 Auditor (desirable). 5. In-depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems and related requirements. 6. Strong data analysis and quality assurance capability. 7. Ability to create clear and visually appealing reports and presentations. 8. Excellent communication skills in English for executive and board-level reporting.
